Primary Therapies for Pain

Although pharmacotherapy is the cornerstone of cancer pain management, primary therapies can be beneficial in providing pain relief.

Cytotoxic Chemotherapy

Cytotoxic chemotherapy is particularly useful in the treatment of multiple myeloma pain. Hormonal therapy is used to ease breast, prostate and pancreatic cancer pain.

Radiation Therapy Techniques

External Beam therapy, systemic therapy for multiple bony metastases, and strontium 89 are helpful in :
