World History Class

Mattie is falling asleep. The bell rings...saved by the bell from a deep sleep.

She is in the hall between classes, she goes to her locker, talks to friends and takes out some Fl. OJ. She drinks it and her step quickens. Now she is in biology class.

She is bright-eyed, attentive, and hallucinatory. She teacher is talking about cells. A classmate who does not care for biology is listening to a CD with earplugs. He has the volume turned up and Mattie can hear the music. She drifts in and out of a biological daydream that exactly sues to the music. She is forced into this state by music she likes.
Mattie is a latchkey teenager

Mattie gets home and takes care of her dog and the kids next door. She goes up to her room and slams the door. One her way to her room , she grabs some OJ.

Refer? to Mattie slams the door scene with computer...I couldn't really read this.
Mattie surfs the web, sends e-mail, does a search for class and tries to do some programming on a little project. It is not working. She knows what she wants but can not express it.
At some point, after the search but before she programs...she turns on music. She will take what she saw in the search and convert them to eidetic imagery. She is going to try to program that and will get very frustrated and throw a fit because she can't program what she sees. She slams it and screams. Just as she screams, she hears the door ring. ( All doors are follyed)
Her mom has returned home. Mattie goes down stairs to meet her. She loves her "Mum" --using the english version because she identifies with a character in a movie). Her mom wants to talk to her about something and she wants to tell Mattie something.
Mattie does not watch TV

Her mom says " Your math and science grades are good, but you have a D in World history. I will take away X."

She goes on to say, " I went to the doctor today. The nurse said I had a lump in my breast ( she feels the spot). They have scheduled me to see a doctor in about 4 weeks. The doctor is so busy I could not get in any sooner."
