Cliffhangers, Plot Lines and Sources of Conflict

1) The roller coaster is going to break, when and who will be on it is a mystery to the audience until it happens.

2) mattie's mom is getting sick, will they find out what is wrong, will she get better?

• mattie's job is to find out what is wrong with her mom and then to fix it.

3) will the Little Rascals next door be found out by the social worker?

4) will mattie figure out the cause of the roller coaster accident?

5) will mattie figure out the cause of her mother's illness?

Themes for the Movie

·        Keep the Little Rascals from being found out by the social worker who comes by.

·        The Roller Coaster will break because a worker was welding and he got distracted (by the sun in his eyes or girls in halter tops down below) so he welds it too long, causing it to break when Mattie’s mom and brother are riding it. The audience doesn’t know when it will break. They see Mattie and her friends ride it and they hold their breaths wondering when it’s going to break.

·        The movie will explain plant biotechnology and how genetically engineered foods are "okay" and just like regular foods.

II.                 Theme

a.       1^st theme is to keep the LR from being found out from the social worker.

b.      2^nd theme is the roller coaster breaking and not finding out when.

c.       3^rd theme is virus. After Mattie’s mom nearly dies from cancer, Mattie begins to ponder the area of cancer. When she sees the plant at her house she hears music and all-of-a-sudden she gets a vision and she asks wheter plants get cancer. this produces a breakthrough.

d.      Mattie’s mom is in the hospital and Mattie visits her.
