the rules for temporal undo:

either party, on making an action, can elect to execute a temporal undo.

however, on executing a temporal undo, both parties forfeit the knowledge acquired in the traversal of the elapsed time.

so in effect, on cannot proceed based on lessons learned, but must repeat a suboptimal choice an arbitrary number of times.
