Tony has done a great job creating the Softrock series. Since I am a novice at high component-density construction, I have factored the Softrock RX/TX into six modular QSL "postcards" as follows: I wanted to be able to test each card separately so if I made a mistake in one area it would not affect another. Each card has a short test procedure printed on the front. I also needed to mix and match cards for wideband radio astronomy work. It costs me about a dollar to print up each 4x6" card and the final radio is 12x12" and flat. I have finished assembling two of the cards and verified the first. I was hoping that this would enable young people (and clumsy old guys like me) to participate more successfully in the construction process. Sort of like "baseball cards" for radio amateurs.
